Scene opens outside a pleasant looking building somewhere, where we are not sure. The camera pans around the area catching the sign outside as it passes. It reads Johnson Film Studios. The scene almost as quickly cuts to inside the building and into the lobby. The camera pan around inside and then zooms in to the water machine and then the person standing with his back towards us. The figure takes a cup and fills it to the top, before turning and facing the camera revealing himself to be "Showtime" Sean Devin. He smiles and winks at the camera before walking over to the door and through it. The camera follows him outside and he smiles again before beginning to speak.
Sean Devin: You know its funny how things can work out for the best. On minute you are at your lowest point of your career managing your brother, believing it to be all over and then next minute you’re happy again and actually enjoying what you do.
Sean Devin: When Satuarday nights show was done we crowned a new champion.... Spaz. Then this week I am put in a match against my brother? Now at first I was wondering why... I mean I am his manager but then it dawned on me. Prophet wants us to break it off, Prophet knows we are our best when we are on our own. Well I spoke to my brother and he has agreed that we will have this match just to see who the better man is.
Sean laughs
Sean Devin: Who the hell does he think he is? After all he’s only managed to win the BWF title because of my help, how does that make him any better than I am? But then every single word he had ever said to me, every statement began to roll through my mind. Yeah I could wrestle, but he is more conditioned then I am. If I came up against any other opponent who hasn't scouted the way I wrestled I would be fine. But no, I am wrestling Gremlin. Here was a guy who had mastered winning the BWF before me and he was to take me on and make me better, the only thing I had to do was swallow my foolish pride and accept the offer. And it wasn’t easy I can tell you, because the old Sean Devin had an inflated ego the size of a double decker bus. It wasn’t easy for me to come back to wrestle my first match against a man who knows me better then anyone else. Telling Prophet I would wrestle after months away from retiring from IWF, that's a risk in itself.
Sean Devin: But I did, I got here. I got into that taxi and I turned up for my first match, and in that first match after a long absence. And that was exactly what my brother wanted. I wasn’t anywhere near as good as I thought I was, and he knew that. The raw skills were there but I needed to refine everything I did. Can you possibly imagine what it felt like when I was rolled up once again, dragging my crippled ass back? It hurt like hell I can tell you, but I stuck at it and turned up for the next round ready for another fight.
Sean Devin: You see going back to the ego, someone mentioned, I think it is obvious that I still have an ego but that is far from the point. It’s funny how when your life comes crashing around you how you re-evaluate exactly what it is that’s important. Would someone with an ego really go crawling back to fight his own brother, in his first match? I don’t think so pal. I’ve learned that no matter how good I am, or how good I get on any one day someone could be better unless I prepare for every single match like it’s a World Title match. Unless I scout that opponent and learn every single thing he can do, I will fail to be the best I can. And unless I practice new methods and new techniques till the day I retire I will never evolve into the champion I know I can be. My brother said he I was good, and he was right. He knew months ago that I was on top of my game, but I am not as good as I once was. I might be just as rusty as anyone else on the roster, but I know I can be better and I can’t think of a single better person than Gremlin to get me there.
Sean looks at the door
Sean DevinL But I know it’s going to be quite a while before I’m challenging for the World Title. The fact remains that Gremlin won the title too early in his career, when he wasn’t ready for the stature, that's why he lost. He wasn’t ready to carry a company like the BWF on his shoulders. He wasn’t ready to accept blame when the company died off, so he lost. Now I know that Spaz is champion, but he can't handle it either. Spaz is fighting some new jobber who no one has heard of until he won his first match because his opponent showed no interest in the match. To be honest with you, that's not exactly how people ern themselves a title shot. Now, don't forget Spaz about what I bring to the table, you know you the title because of Murdocks help, but that's not important. Well there is no way that I will let that happen again, I won’t challenge for the title until I am ready to be granted the chance. And anyway, before that I have much more important matters to attend to.
He flashes a smile at the screen, enjoying the moment.
Sean Devin: But onto this weeks show, one that I hope is as much fun for Gremlin as the previous edition. This week I get to face for the first time ever, Gremlin, and to be honest, he has impressed the most. This week I face you, it’s just you and me. No outside help, or people screwing people over. Now I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know what your game was last week, I haven’t the faintest clue why you just pretty much gave Spaz the title. But don’t for one second think that that you are going to do that this week. This is step number one on the learning curve for you and the next step back up the ladder for me
Sean Devin: See I will take you out and you will see that you aren't in my pool bro.
Sean chuckles to himself
Sean Devin: This is a new start for me bro, just like you I have to prove myself all over again. That’s why I’m not fighting the new guys because I don't need to prove that the hunger is still there, that the drive is still within me. See, I’m not like you, thinking that I can waltz through the opposition like they aren’t there. There isn’t a chance in hell that’s going to happen. I am going to prove to you that I can get it done in the ring. Just watch me!
Sean smiles and walks off towards the gym area as the screen fades to black
